Built in 1868, it is able to be dismantled, moved and then reassembled to protect it from the dangers of beach erosion. Overall lamp height is 25".

About the lighthouse: Built in 1827 in Havre de Grace at the mouth of the Susquehanna River, this light is the oldest on Chesapeake Bay. The 43-foot white stone masonry tower once housed a fifth-order Fresnel Lens, on of the smallest lenses available, but this was removed when the lighthouse was deactivated. Overall lamp height is 24".

About the lighthouse: Built in 1852 in Apalachicola, this now-deactivated lighthouse stands alone on an uninhabited island, withstanding for many years assaults by nature and by man. About the lighthouse: The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, built in 1875 of approximately 1 million unpainted bricks, makes a bold statement at its site in Corolla, North Carolina. Located halfway between the Cape Henry Light in Virginia and the Bodie Island Light, this bright beacon flashes every 20 seconds and can be seen 18 miles out to sea along the dangerous Outer Banks of North Carolina. The 55-foot square masonry tower has a third-order Fresnel Lens and is visible 18 miles out to sea. The light was automated in 1924 and is still an active navigational beacon today. About the lighthouse: Destruction Island is 30 acres of desolate land 3 miles off the mainland of Washington state, and thus was the perfect location in 1891 for the construction of this 94-foot, iron-clad brick tower as yet another friend of the mariner. The light from its first-order Fresnel Lens is visible 24 miles out to sea. Overall lamp height is 24".

Built in 1825 to mark the north entrance to Biscayne Bay, it was decommissioned in 1878 and returned to service 100 years later in 1978. In recent years, the surface of the old tower was renewed, bringing it back to its past glory. The light from its 95-foot tower can be seen 7 miles at sea. Overall lamp height is 24".
